Watching True Blood 10-28-2021 - love this song!!!
Going to use this for my old as dirt necromancer. He's very tired.
He gun be singing this when the party comes to fight him at the end of the campaign. If he's being honest, he truly hopes one day a party of heroes will put him down for good. But the tangled web of necromancy woven to keep him alive has kept death from finding him. A fact he has come to resent after 400 years of being the worlds most hated man, an unkillable nightmare spoken of in hushed whispers by all but his cultists. His cultists just freak him out, tbh. He's in too deep to be anything but the Dark Lord, a position he wishes to retire from.
The lack of emotion and complexity turned me off of this compared to BS&T, but this is much easier to listen to. Still on the fence I guess

If I’m not mistaken, this was from the end of Season 4 finale. I got to watch TB in its original air time from the 3rd season to last. Season 4 made True Blood fanatic. I loved this show back then. And it introduced me to The Heavy

The song written is by the Bronx prodigy, singer/songwriter Laura Nyro when she was aged 16. She recorded it in 1966 for her first LP.

I'm 60yo so very familiar with BS&T version, but like this version also. Very different. If you are going to cover a song, it is good to do your own take. Think they did a good job.
borderlands 2 is what got me to like them and and I haven't regreted it at all I have 2 of their albums (the house that dirt built and the glorious dead )
I heard Big Bad Wolf at the end of a Luther show (season 2 episode 1) and found some great songs here. These guys are really good, and they sound like they have a lot of fun making music.
